On Sunday, September 29, 2015, Michael Cioni (President), Laura Pursley (Director of Marketing) and I attended the International Cinematographers Guilds (ICG) Emerging Cinematographers Awards.
The ceremony was held at the Directors Guild Theater in Los Angeles, CA, and included a screening of the eight short films – each brilliantly shot. Two of the films showcased were finished at Light Iron LA.
The first was Incident on Highway 73, directed by Brian Thompson (left), lensed by Jason Hafer (right), and colored by Ian Vertovec.
The second was Deliá, lensed by John Garrett (left), directed by Thomas Scott Stanton (right), and colored by Nick Lareau.
Both Jason and John had great things to say about their experience working with our team. John has even brought two of his previous film to us (Sugar Mountain, Cold War).
Light Iron and Panavision were both sponsors for the awards show, providing DI services and camera packages to the award winners. This year, Michael Nie, Director of Photography for Dust, was awarded the Light Iron DI Package and the Panavision Camera Package. It’s exciting to think his next film will have the opportunity to take advantage of our integrated partnership and services.
All and all, the event was a great opportunity to see the short films on the big screen and admire the hard work that cast and crew put into each project. It was also wonderful to be engaged and have an evening to enjoy the company of our industry colleagues. We are very much looking forward to next years event! Congratulations to all the award winners.
